Today, Sunday the 19th of January 2014 I glanced at the headlines of the Union Leader’s Sunday edition and what caught my eye was a story excoriating the democratically controlled House of Representatives that, collection of 400 souls elected to do the work of the people. Why you may ask? Because in some form or another the House decided to allow the regulated sale of Marijuana in New Hampshire. Now the New Hampshire legislature has already agreed to allow the medical use of marijuana, all that was left to decide was the question of where to get the marijuana.
But here comes the Union Leader a decidedly pro republican and anti-union newspaper spouting off in its most emotional manner about the degeneracy of the democratic party and the dangers of drug use. I don’t know how many medical professionals are employed by the Union Leader but my first guess is none.
The was on drugs is not a war on drugs. It’s a war on Americans. The United States of America has more people, 2.1 million or 1 for every 100 Americans in its jails and prisons, more than any other country in the world. That’s including The Russian Federation and China. 51% of federal prisoners and 20% of state prisoners are in prison because of drug offenses.
Think about it for a minute. Think about what you know. Do you use prescription drugs? That’s o-kay, right? But why.
