At first I thought The Donald was a joke. Then he won the Republican party nomination to be the next president of the United States. Of course his nonsense does show how managed a presidential race is with a carefully crafted message designed to elicit the greatest number of votes. Which is different from presenting viewpoints on necessary issues so that the public can decide. But then again The Donald is essentially doing the same thing isn’t he ? in a cheap television reality show kind of way. And yes, these people really vote and that vote counts just like yours does.
The Donald’s core audience is bigoted, racist in the extreme. If he were simply concentrating the most small minded ignorant people in one place for elimination from the gene pool, wait they’ve already bred. There goes that thought. My husband Lynn has always thought that The Donald really doesn’t want to be the President of the United States. Could The Donald be the savior of the GOP? I mean the GOP has created a whole industry of right wing media refuting reality, or what the right wing media terms variously drive by media, main stream media (as though that’s a bad thing) and the liberal left. You know them as ABC, CBS, NBC and NPR. According to GOP mantra education and intelligence is a bad thing branding intellectuals as The Elite. Yes! The Elites are the problem! Really? Is there some reason we don’t want the best and brightest people analyzing information and making decisions?
At the beginning of the 20th century our government could no longer fund itself without resorting to an income tax. Along the way to that end people were convinced that they too would someday be wealthy therefore it would not be in their best interest to have higher taxes on the wealthiest American citizens. But we did create the estate tax system because we realized that allowing wealth to accumulate in fewer and fewer hands through inheritance would create a ruling class all its own. How did that work out? Slowly but surely the estate taxes have been rolled back and wealth has been concentrated in fewer and fewer hands. You would think that the name Death Taxes would have been a clue, I mean what do you care once you’re dead? You made it, you spent it and you’re gone. Oh yeah, you want a better life for your heirs. Yes, jet aircraft expensive automobiles and the ability to pay too much for everything else makes life better.
The Donald’s just behaving, just showing his true colors. He’s an example of the worst sort of real estate developer. The Donald doesn’t grant us the courtesy of a believable lie. He blusters, he threatens he steals outright and people flock to him hoping to be granted some of his perceived wealth. And no one remembers where that little bit of cash he has comes from, it comes from anyone to interacts with The Donald. The Donald is an expert at making your money his. And keeping your money for himself. What would he do for the US economy? Take us through bankruptcy?
